Join us for earthen plaster on strawbale building workshop guided by Bret Ingold, co-founder of non-profit, Rise Now and a part of The Kawasiwajo Community Land Trust. Earthen plasters, like cob and adobe, are made from sand, clay, straw, and water.
We’ll learn natural building techniques including strawbale and earthen plaster, lime plaster, living roofs, earthen floors, and traditional timber frame joinery.
We’ll also enjoy meals together, a tour of the property and surrounding areas where there are many community-scale permaculture projects and practices to touch on.
On-site at Bret's family farm, Wildwood, are examples of yurt construction, cordwood masonry, geodesics, rammed earth, and earthen bag construction to learn from.
